- You don't have to be a professional teacher or doctor. If you are motivated to help unprivileged
people to a better future, you are welcome!
- You can choose volunteer in a school or a clinic, depending on your interests.
- This cultural experience will help you to understand Western African society and the world in general.
- Ghana is a perfect place to spend part of your gap year. At the end of your stay, you will feel
a great satisfaction for having shared you knowledge with African children or dedicated part of your time to the development
of the clinics.
- In the schools you will be working from 8:00 to 3:00 GMT. The subjects taught are Mathematics, Science,
English comprehension, and Computer skills.
- Due to the school calendar in Ghana, we can place volunteers within the following dates:
15th SEPTEMBER to 15th DECEMBER (1st School Term)
15th JANUARY to 31st MARCH (2nd School Term)
15th MAY to 15th AUGUST (3rd School Term)
If you prefer to volunteer in a clinic, you can come at any time of the year.
- Information and/or training needed will be provided by HACSO.
- The lenght of volunteer placement may be one month or more. Once in Ghana you can extend
your stay if you desire.
- We want to meet you and know about your culture, therefore we suggest you bring pictures or maps
of your country.
